Story about Diabetes .

My experience

Dec 2, 2

I was diagnosed as a LADA type 1 diabetic at age 57. Very fit and active. A triathlete/runner for 40 years with no prior family history of diabetes. This came totally out of left field and left me dumbfounded. I remember a quote from a young friend of mine who's brother is a type 1 and his father is a doctor. "Get with the program because the options are not very good". I got on the program, researched the disease for weeks, got an insulin pump and never looked back. Now I do almost eveything I did before being diagnosed and life goes on as it did before with a few modifications.
