Stills disease- my story

Sep 8, 2020

Year Condition Began: 2012

I began having fevers and joint pain in 2011 after I had recovered from breast cancer. The fevers would be very high, some up to 106.0 F. The joint pain and swelling was mainly in my wrists , elbows, and fingers at the time. After going through several doctors and the Mayo Clinic, I finally got a diagnosis and was started on treatment. My treatment now is hydroxychloroquine, prednisone, methotrexate injection, and Actemra infusion. I average about 2 small flares a month right now which is tolerable. Last year at this time I was basically bedridden and in horrendous pain. The Actemra infusion has really been a blessing. I have tried many of the other biological drugs, Actemra has worked the best for me.
