There has been a lot of following for a high ketogenic diet that appears to have very positive effects on behaviours and epilepsy for people with Angelman Syndrome. As long as there are no medical downsides - such as the adult person with Angelman Syndrome who might have high cholesterol levels or gall stones, or a small infant/child, I think it has been shown that this diet improves quality of life considerably. Consideration must be taken of excessive weight gain if there is a predisposition towards over eating, regardless of what diet one consumes. I know of no particular food that should be avoided due to having Angelman Syndrome but I would be interesting in hearing from anyone who does. I have read that a high carbohydrate diet is thought to be inadvisable.
