It is of extreme importance to do as much exercise as you can manage, you should aim to become breathless but not too breathless to be able to talk with ease.Any exercise is great, things like squash should be worked at, gradually increasing your time participating. A team game is good as this promotes socialising, like football or cricket. For some who simply cannot do that level of exercise singing is a great way to exercise your lungs so improving your lung capacity and your lung function. There are groups now that do "walking football or walking tennis" ! A fantastic way to help balance lung function and capacity along with socialising as well.
