Doctors are not sure what causes Pityriasis Rosea. They believe it is a virus, but it may not be. I believe mine began as an allergic reaction to a new deodorant. A rash appeared within minutes, then I could not use any deodorant for several weeks, because it would aggravate the rash.
Whatever causes it, it is nasty!
