Signs and symptoms will become evident inutero or soon after birth. The most obvious symptoms early on are babies born (often prematurely) much smaller than gestational age, failure to thrive, ambiguous genitalia, chronic diarrhea, frequent infections, and adrenal issues. Keep in mind that it isn't typically only one of these symptoms, but rather most if not all of these symptoms that are present.
