So far I have found that the one way to keep my husband on an even keel is to avoid stressful situations. He now (apart from walking around the village) doesn't like to go anywhere, or be left anywhere alone, even when he is amongst friends. I also try to arrange to go out to interesting places when possible as now that he's not able to drive it would be very easy to find that he hardly goes out anywhere other than within walking distance.
