No You cannot "catch " aortic dissection, but that's NOT to say One cannot have an Infection that causes damage, or Dissection, certain Venereal diseases have been known to be related (Syphilis), or perhaps Rheumatic Fever "could cause weakness" generally speaking i don't believe has been linked directly.... but alone and generally healthy folks cannot "pass" it along like a common cold..... on the other side of the coin are Genetic issues passed down within a family again Your Not "Catching" it like a viral infection rather you might or might not carry a gene passed down a generation or maybe several skipped generations, which is Why when someone is found to have suffered AD the siblings and children are advised to be tested genetically as well ....
