I suffered a profound hearing loss in one ear. I believe if a patient was happy with themselves before getting sick, they can continue to be happy knowing they are the same person inside. However, I do not let anybody take pictures of me because of my face. I also do not like to eat out because my eye closes when I eat, etc.
