I don't think that the life expectancy of a person with RA is any shorter than anyone else. RA meds do cause complications, so RA patients do have t yo be more aware and vigilant. But if you take care of yourself, go to your doctor regular, and be aware of your body, always paying close attention for signs of infection or other side effects of the medications, you can life a long life.
