I don't think we know 100% what causes narcolepsy.
Based on things i have read and talks with my specialist i think i developed it aged 12/13 so maybe puberty was a trigger. I think i maybe had a gene so i was a carrier and the trigger made it develop.
I have a child who has not gone on to develip the condition.
