Sarcoidosis is a worldwide disease but has a higher prevalence in coloured races. The number of people being diagnosed has risen in recent years and the percentage per 1000 people has increased. It affects more people in the 40-60 age group although the overall numbers in each age group have risen. It is widerspread in Adults than in children.
