Amanda's interview
How did all start?
I was born this way.
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
I found out I had it when I had my 3rd son. He also has the syndrome.
For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?
I had open heart surgery at around 2-3 for hold on my heart. I have a small bald spot on my head. Also, small toes but have all 5, my feet are also wide.
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
I don’t know much. Just thankful for having minor symptoms.
What have been your biggest difficulties?
Nothing anymore. Probably my heart when I was a baby.
My feet & hands work great & had no problems being on sports teams etc growing up.
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
Nope. Just the same.
What things have you stopped doing?
Nothing.
What do you think about the future?
Not sure if we’ll have more children since it’s unpredictable who will have the genetic components.
So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
All my years to my knowledge have been great v
What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?
More kids for sure.
If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?
I have been blessed.
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
Stay happy. You’re alive, & God loves you.
