Addison's from Sepsis

Hello my name is Susan aka "Sassy" a name I have earned! In 1998 after undergoing surgery to my shoulder my body went Septic. A horrible ordeal. Most of my organs were damaged including my adrenal glands. I am not the typical addison's patient. Medically what is not supposed to happen does happen to me. While I am so very grateful to of survived with a 5% chance of survival= 18 years so far, the residual effects have not been easy. I also ended up with diabetes. After being on steroids for 7 years I had a "feeling" and asked the physician to wean me off them. Wala my adrenal glands were working in a good normal range. I was in remission (yes I know it never ever happens). The remission lasted 7 years as well. In 2012 I was having addison's side effects. I knew right away what was wrong and requested the blood work. For 3 years I complained to my ever changing physicians.....for 3 years "they" ordered blood work, which showed my cortisol in a normal range. Apparently the physicians nor I knew to HAVE YOUR BLOOD WORK DONE BEFORE 8 AM. After 8 AM your cortisol levels come up and show a normal range. Wow. So in 2015 my R.N ordered blood work with the above directions. It was back! So back on steroids. After 3 months I started having the same symptoms as if I was not taking any steroids. After new blood work....Holy cow I was in remission again. My other glands have been checked...no tumors...no cancer....no other gandular problems. I am in remission for the second time. (Yes again, I know ... it never ever happens).  Apparently this will probably be a cycle for me. Apparently my adrenal glands work a little and here and there will need a short term boost with steroids. I try to educate others, especially medical personnel. Uplift others with addison's.
