Oct 1, 2017

By: Julie

Year Condition Began: 2011

Condition was undiagnosed for 9 1/2 months of extensive testing only picked up by relieving registrar at an endo appt for hyperthyroidism, by which time my soles of my feet, my palms and everything in between was a lovely dark black shade of tanned too long in sun! I had massive unexplained weight loss of 60kg which did not look good in itself with darkening skin which has affected my entire body from head to toes including the tongue, gums and roof of mouth. My colour has never returned to original state and is still now very much affected depending on my health at the time. It's been a long hard road trying to play with meds and get the right doses for myself, I've gone from being a very active woman too barely being able to drive the 52kms to work each day then try n get home same distance at end of day! Support from my family and close friends has been paramount in my being whom I am today
