Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma, 17 years and counting

May 19, 2017

By: Carmenita

from age 14-27 I dealt with ear, jaw and neck pain, misdiagnosed with chronic ear infections, and tmj. I was diagnosed at age 27 with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma after an ear drum burst and my ENT did an exploratory surgery. They found a large tumor in my ear. I was referred to a experienced ENT surgeon in Joplin Missouri. After two surgery's with a combined time of 26 hours, they removed 7 tumors in my ear, parotid, submandibular, and neck. I did IMRT Radiation, 30 rounds and had a recurrence in 2014. 14 years later. I had a scalp tumor in my scar tissue and a skull based tumor. I had a scalp rotstion, ear removal, eye lid nerve resection and neck dissection. I had 5 treatments of cyberknife. I'm currently NED.
