How did all start?
My daughter was 3 when a stranger told me something was wrong with her. I was devastated, she seemed fine to me.
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
It took about 6 months to figure out exactly what was going on with my daughter.
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
The best thing was getting her in a all day program from the time she was 3.
What have been your biggest difficulties?
Impulse control, behaviours, lack of empathy
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
I have created a family of special needs families. My own is excepting to a certain point but they do not go out of there way to be with us.
What do you think about the future?
Worried now that she is 20 I need to start thinking about her finding her own place in the world.
