Story about Alpha 1-antitrypsin deficiency .

A Carrier

May 11, 2016

By: Donna

Hi, I am recently diagnosed as a carrier of the S Allele so therefore I am piMS, I have had symptoms since 1991 when I was very ill with ongoing chest problems for 18 months, which I was told in the end was due to an allergy to flux (soldering). I have felt better every year since being made redundant from that job in 1992. However, I can not bear any aerosols near me, I also had a bad reaction to GA for an operation which resulted in 3 chest infections. After which I was diagnosed with COPD. I feel fine, though my lung function is 70% with stage 2 COPD.

I also suffer with gum problems, which has improved since supplementing with a fairly high daily dose of vitamin C.
