Had the cold April 2019, my smell disappeared. September 2019 I developed parosmia (a distorted smell and taste). Some things have zero smell and bland taste and other things have a weird sweet chemical smell and taste...the exact same smell for wine, beer, chocolate, banana, raw garlic...the list continues. Nasal steroid spray for 3 months, no improvement. Started smell training mid September. I get the odd whiff of something then it disappears. This only happens about once every few weeks. Doctors don't seem to know much about it, learning to adjust to life has been difficult but getting there.
