How did all start?

Pain in my chest spreading up my wind pipe to my throat.

Admitted to A &E in Haywards Heath diagnosed 24 hrs later

For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?

CT scans picked up my condition

What have been your biggest difficulties?

Overcoming the spinal stroke I suffered during my operation

How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?

I had massive support from friends and family notably my partner. It has brought us closer together.

What things have you stopped doing?

I can no longer lift heavy weights but otherwise I continue to cycle, swim and ski.

What do you think about the future?

I know that this condition may shorten my life but I like to think I will live for at least another 15 years.

What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?

Cycle more and greater distances

Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?

Don't give up your dreams
