I am a 36yo mom of 2 kids. 1 boy 1 girl. I am a carrier of CHM and I have extreme light sensitivity. My family has a very strong inheritance factor for CHM. I have spent my whole life with close family members that are affected with this eye disease. My father being the closet. I never worried or wandered about this eye disease until I had my own children. Growing up with so many people around me with it made me feel like this was just the norm. It was always right in front of me and ironically, it made me blind to the worry. Now that I have children and they are growing it has opened my eyes to realize this is real and to worry about what this holds for their future. My father has recently joined a clinical trial and I am excited about what this will mean for the future of my children and everyone around the world struggling with CHM.
