I came down with a nasty virus a couple of days after my honeymoon in 2011. I had a bad chest infection and sinus infection which anti-biotics did not seem to be able to shift. In September, I went back to work as a teacher even though I still wasn't back at full health and tried to push through. I lasted three weeks and then my body crashed. I have been unable to work since.
Occupational Health advised me to exercise to get better, so I did. I got considerably worse and have been mainly housebound for the last few years. Through managing my symptoms, pacing, diet changes, and learning to appreciate life's small pleasures, I have been slowly improving.
I have a long way to go to get anywhere approaching wellness, but I will get there eventually. In the meantime I intend to have as much fun as possible from within the confines of my house. Thank goodness for the Internet!
