My first Cluster went undiagnosed for 30 days that I spent in my dorm room, loosing 20 lbs from not eating. Cafergot was finally prescribed and daily doses of 1 mg stopped the cycle and it did not recur until 1976. 

Cycles recurred, 2-3 daily and were quickly handled with cafergot 1 mg daily doses. 

Next recurrance 1981 and every 5 years until 2006 when the clusters became Chrinic and recurred daily for until 2011.

2011 ?I began to treat my clusters with doses of psilocybin, 1.5 g every 7 days and this ended the chronic clusters for 4-5  months.

Clusters resumes and were treated with psilocybin again with success achieving a 4-5 month break in their cycle until this time. 

Zomig 5 mg nasel inhaler is my only recourse for ending an attack. 

1-2K/month when clusters are present.
