Story about Colloid cyst .

Recurrent colloid cyst

Dec 13, 2017

By: David

Year Condition Began: 2008

I was initially diagnosed with colloid cyst in August 2008. After two years of deliberation and consultations with one of the best specialists in this field of expertise (Prof Henry Marsh), I decided to undertake the surgical removal of the colloid cyst, which was asymptotic at the time. This was successfully done in October 2010, through the complete opening of the skull (no endoscopic removal). The surgery went well, however, there were some complications afterwards (partial infection of the skull) that later miraculously disappeared. I was informed at the time that the cyst was removed entirely; and that the risk of recurrence was rather impossible. A follow-up session occurred a few months after the surgery, with no further follow-ups. It has just been over 7 years since the removal of the colloid cyst, which has recently been re-diagnosed. This time there are some symptoms - blurry vision with 'white dots' appearance.
