Routine blood test to check on my iron counts as I also have thalassemia minor, showed platelets at 1mil. In the process of being diagnosed in 2006, had a heart attack (after having a colonoscopy.)I had a heart cath which showed blockage in 2 arteries. They thought that a clot from the colonoscopy traveled to my heart and due to blockage caused heart attack. Was officially diagnosed in 10/2006 with ET. Have been on Hydrea for 11 years. Dose varies according to counts. I also take other meds for hypertension, arthritis, reflux, and cholesterol. Fatigue and foot burning/pain and nausea from meds bother me the most.
