Insist on an MRI

I began with pain in my hip along my right leg in March 2018. The pain was diagnosed as sciatica. A 20 year old rarely gets sciatica. X rays were clear. After several rounds of muscle relaxers, physical therapy, getting new inserts for my shoes the pain eventually got so bad that I couldn’t pee or poop. Up until this point mom kept asking for an MRI and the doctor said it wasn’t necessary. So after an acupuncture treatment the acupuncture doctor told him he needed an mri and he thought it could be a disc problem. He wrote it out and we handed it to the doctor and he finally was given an MRI. Within a few hours after the MRI we were called in that I had a tumor on my tailbone. Follow up cat scans showed it had spread into my pelvis and lungs. It was May at this point. 3 month after the pain began. Happy news is after 14 rounds of chemo and radiation I had clear scans! I still have lung radiation left.
