I was given Cipro and Levaquin for a suspected case of Pneumonia (a dark spot on my left side). The spot never went away and after more testing and a cat scan, it is an anomaly and it was determined I did not have Pneumonia! Lucky me, I was poisoned for nothing! I could not walk, get up from a sitting position, step down a curb without excruciating pain. I literally went to the Doctor without and apt and said you are missing something! They did a bunch of tests and found nothing, but I went to an orthopedist who advised he was afraid for me as all of my tendons were at risk for rupture. He advised no exercise, gave me anti inflammatory and just did not know how else to help. I then went to a Rheumatologist who had seen my son previously and he was disgusted that no one made me aware that my inflammation markers were off the chart. I was diagnosed with reactive spondyloarthopthy and full body tendonopathy caused by Leavaquin to which there is NO KNOWN CURE! So many years later and research on my own, I am doing better and have much better pain control using Low Dose Naltrexone. So thankful for communities that share knowledge otherwise it would not be as good an outcome. My knees are shot, my lower back is painful after activity. But I live and I live with passion! Do not give up, and even with some challenges it is worth living. In the beginning, I would not have said that, I was ready to throw in the towel, it was so horrible. But it does get better.
