Gastroschisis Story - Emery

My daughter Emery was born with gastroschisis in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in January 2014. She weighed 5lbs 12 ounces and was delivered via emergency c-section at 37 weeks and 2 days. Her total hospital stay was 21 days and she had her closure surgery 3 days after she was born. Luckily we have never had any set backs and she's as happy and healthy as any other child. Developmentally she has never slowed or showed any signs of struggle due to her condition. A true miracle with the help of the most wonderful staff and doctors at the Alberta Chidlren's Hospital.
