Story about Guillain-Barre Syndrome .

GBS Survivor

Mar 11, 2016

I am 29yrs. I was diagnosed with GBS in June 2010. It is unknown as to why I got it. I didn't have a flu shot and I was not sick. I was in the hospital for 9 days. The first 4 days they were running tests and when they did a spinal tap, I was told it was GBS. I did physical therapy only in the hospital because my doctor felt like I didn't need it so he would not approve it. Almost 6yrs later I am about 85%-90% back to normal. I am on two medications, one for my nerves and one for my muscles. I deal with cramps throughout my body and sometimes they last about 10-15mins. I have weakness every once in a while and I have some days where I am exhausted and tired and in pain.
