Jakob was diagnosed at birth. We have a long family history of Hemophilia B severe, so we weren't surprised when we got confirmation that he had it. We had a port placed when he was 2 years old and it was the best thing we ever did. He was a very hard stick and it was awful when he needed treatments. We used Benefix from the start and it always worked great for us. Then the new and longer lasting factor, Alprolix, came out and we made the switch about a month ago. Now instead of treating two times a week, we only treat every fourteen days! We are extremely blessed to have great support and are able to get his medicine!
