How did all start?
Breathing trouble with coughing in 1994.
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
Yes. Within a week.
For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?
Multiple surgeries for this problem. The CTR helped the most.
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
The CTR in 2005.
What have been your biggest difficulties?
My voice and swallowing.
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
It’s hard for people to hear me. I often get verbally over powered. And I have to repeat myself often.
What things have you stopped doing?
Speaking as much as I used to?
What do you think about the future?
I’m unsure.
So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
When I first started college back in the 70s. Then getting married and having my children.
What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?
I’d like to speak more. However, I’ve always been an observer and listener.
If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?
So far, I’ve had a very diverse life.
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
Don’t give up.
