I had a stroke in April 2016.  I didn't realize I had a stroke, I just thought I had slept on my arm wrong.   About three weeks later I saw my doctor.   He sent me to get an MRI at the hospital.    They only did a CAT scan and gave me pain meds for what they told me was a strained shoulder, so he sent me to an MRI center.  That was about a week after the hospital.   The results were that I did indeed have a stroke.  So, he sent me to Florida Medical center. It's another hospital that specializes in strokes.   I spent about a month there. From there, I was transferred to Jackson Memorial Hospital.  I was diagnosed with MoyaMoya on June 21,2016 which is my brother's birthday.   My neurosurgeon was Jacques Morcos.  He performed my first STA-MCA BYPASS about two weeks after I was released from Jackson.   My second was about two months later.   I still don't know an awful lot about this disease, but I remain a MoyaMoya warrior.
