I first started having drop attacks around 1987 after I graduated from high school when I was working as a janitor. My doctor suggested MS and checked my thyroid and blood sugar but fiund nothing wrong but a vertibrae in my lower back that was not fused as it should be resulting in somehyperflexibility and wear n the surrounding nerves and tissues. Apparently 1 in 4 had the condition. By 2007 my husband and I were in Hawaii and I was sick with what I thought was a bad sinus cold. We met an environmenal engineer on the beach who had retreated to Hawaii because chemical sensitivities. Talking to him helped me realize what I was dealing with. Afew years later I heard another experience from a man who had seizures from fragrances. I realized again that it answered many of my issues. In 2012 a set of documents arrived at our office that smelled strongly of perfume. That was the start of a long decline in my health. In many ways I have learned to manage my condition thanks to Dr. Claudia Millers theory of TILT Toxicant Induced Loss Of Tolerance. I based my lifestyle of chemical avoidance on her theory and was able to keep working until 2016. I have faced some setbacks, however, but continue trying. I would love to collaborate with others who are aving success in understanding and managing this condition.
