My Husband and I were newlywed and living in a new mobile home. At the same time, my place of work moved into a brand new building with windows that did not open.For three years I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me. I had nosebleeds, Headaches, sinus infections, burning throat, dizziness, confusion, inability to concentrate, rapid heartbeat, extreme exhaustion and fainting. I went to 11 different medical doctors over that time. And was given some blood pressure medicine to lower my heartbeat because that’s all they could figure out to do. So, in desperation, I saw a Naturopathic doctor (Remember acceptance of alternative medicine was not popular in the 1980’s). This amazing woman actually asked WHERE I lived, and discovered the problem. I was out on an elimination detox whole food diet and herbs to detox me. My birds had died of respiratory failure and my Husband was always sick With upper respiratory infections or sinus infections. We moved out of the mobile home and into a “safe” house that did not have any new building materials in it. And slowly over time I became stronger but since then I have been unable to tolerate chemicals of any kind. Carpeting, new cars, flooring etc. in the last 5 years I have become intolerant to scents and fragrances. I try to live in a safe environment and wear a mask when I go out. I see an Environmental Dr. Ongoing to help with occasional exposures. There is hope out there so don’t give up! Keep searching till you find an MCS doctor who can help. Naturopathic medicine too has saved my life! Live in the country if you can. Don’t used scented laundry soap or dryer sheets! Clean with baking soda and white vinegar. Be as natural as you can! I have survived for nearly 35 years quite well but being careful. Don’t stand around a campfire, use electric heat. Get Fas out of your house- oil heat too is so bad for you! Be well
