A Neurofibromatosis story

Jul 13, 2026

In March 2012 my hearing got bad suddenly in th left ear.  Subsequent tests showed a meningioma as well as a vestibular schwannoma, a classic diagnosis for NF2.  Both tumours were succesfully removed leaving me with facial palsy and balance issues.  Otherwise I am quite healthy and feeling lucky that I can still do lots of things.  I think my NF2 is mosaic, meaning it isn't everywhere in my body, so with luck I might not suffer from any more tumours.  I will be going for more MRI's of the brain and spine in January.
