Story about Ostomy .

Beat Cancer Twice

Jun 9, 2017

I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer stage 1C in October, 2013. Had debulking surgery and 6 rounds of chemo. At a followup appointment with my gyn oncologist in July of 2015, he noticed that I was positive for blood in stool on that little paper tester and told me to have a colonoscopy asap. Well, a cancerous polyp (tumor) was found at the sigmoid colon. I relocated from Ft. Lauderdale to Tampa so I could be treated at Moffitt Cancer Center. DX with Stage IV Colorectal Cancer with metastasis to my liver. Had surgery again, ileostomy, chemo and radiation...second surgery and chose colostomy over reversal...but I am alive and NED one year this month.
