How did all start?
A lump in my breast
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
Yes, at first it was thought to be benign, but after being operated they discovered it was malignant
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
Help and comfort from my family
What have been your biggest difficulties?
I am absolutely terrified. I received my diagnosis a week ago , and I’m scared I will die because there isn’t really a cure for this condition. I’m now doing tests to find out if I have metastasis.
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
They have supported me very much. I know they love me but I feel our lives will never be the same again. I will live in fear from now on, always worrying about the results of my tests.
What things have you stopped doing?
I have always been an optimistic person, always smiling and happy, I don’t know if I can be that person again.
What do you think about the future?
At the moment , it doesn’t seem to be very good.
So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
I have been happy all of my life , except for the two years before my menopause and now of course.
What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?
Be happy and carefree again.
If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?
Up to now I’ve had a very happy life.
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
I don,t know I’m too upset now.
I’ve just read my interview again and realized how depressing it is. I was really upset when I wrote it. Today I feel very happy even if I’m waiting for my Body scan results.
So today I would advise people to hope for the best.
