My phyllodes journey

After years of multiple lumpbectomies ,seeing a oncologist due to my sister having breast cancer ,my high risk and Years of mammograms, ultrasounds and breast MRIS. My Dr. Advised me to get a prophylactic mastectomy due to things still being found and growing. While I was waiting for insurance approval,  they found my phyllodes in my left breast by ultrasound and fine needle biospie. They wanted more tissue to see if it was benign. My doctor said they can have all of the tissue .that this was nothing to play with and that we still need to go forward with the mastectomy. I had a bilateral mastectomy with skin ,nipple sparring and reconstruction with silicone implants.  Pathology report came back benign but they found atypical ductal hyperplasia in both breast and numerous other  precancerous things. I felt like I had definitely made the best decison. It was a journey that I did not take alone. My husband was by my side the whole time. I thank God for prayer and a great support  system. I pray one day they will find out more information on Phyllodes and a cure.
