Story about Sarcoidosis .

My story

Apr 1, 2017

By: Patty

I was diagnosed in November 2006 after I had a massive blood transfusion after gallbladder removal surgery in June 2005, I was told initially that I had Lymphoma. I followed up with a pulmonary doc, who said he didn't think I had lymphoma, and highly doubted I had sarc because I was the wrong color. I went 4 years untreated and not followed my medical treatment. I moved to NY from NC and in 2010, I had a lump on my inner elbow, it was excised and pathological testing came back positive for sarcoidosis. I suffered bad nosebleeds, chronic fatigue, general malaise. After on and off again right upper quadrant pain, a liver biopsy was performed and stage 3 liver fibrosis was my diagnosis. Sarc is in my lymph nodes, joints (sarcoid arthritis), chronic pain, fatigue. I only get prednisone occasionally to help my body fight this disease. My goal is to get correct info out on this debilitating disease and raise awareness.
