Story about Sarcoidosis .

Housemaids knee... I think not!!!

Oct 27, 2017

By: Tara

Year Condition Began: 2017

I woke up one morning with incredible pain in my knees which made walking almost impossible, I also had a fever, lumpy painful rash on my shins and fatigue after 14 GP /nurse trips in 2 months where I was told that I had housemaids knee, bursitis or hypochondria, I finally had a break down in the doctors surgery and was referred to the QE in Birmingham. The specialist there has been amazing, I have had ecg, x rays, CT scans, lung biopsy, blood tests and seen a dermatologist, finally got a diagnosis of multisystem Sarcoidosis in September 2017, still seeing the doctor every 6 to 8 weeks and managing to get by without needing steroids at the moment (apart from a steroid inhaler) but looking at having to start treatment soon as symptoms are getting worse
