A life with sarcoidosis

Oct 27, 2017

By: Sue

Year Condition Began: 1988

I had glandular fever aged 18 and from then on had bouts of chronic fatigue, whether this was the cause of later conditions, I don't know. At 28 developed sarcoidosis in my lungs and had ongoing occasional flares. In 2004 had my first encounter with neurosarcoidosis, affecting the pons area of my brain. Over the years have acquired hypothyroidism, gout, type 2 diabetes, diabetes insipidus and lymphedema. In 2014 was hospitalised for a month with neurosarc affecting my eyes, causing severe papillodoema and uvetis. I have had to give up work and have ongoing autonomic problems which mean I am now disabled. Fighting on regardless
