My daughter Danielle was diagnosed with TAK January 2010, 6 months after being diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis. We almost lost her, she had a month long stay in the hospital, her team of Doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong. The thrid week a nephrologist was asked to take a look at her, he found a bruit in her left renal artery and at that point an mri was done and it found there was also damage to her celiac and sma  arteries as well as an anyurism in aorta. She was 18 years old and had never had any prior symptoms.
