A Transverse myelitis interview .

Dramos17's interview

How did all start?

Started having lots of back pain , headaches day and night . Back pains got worst , I couldn’t sleep due to the severe pain , I would have to walk all night around the house to ease the pain , until one day I had bladder disfunction, that’s when I went to the ER AND AFTER LOTS OF TEST , an MRI they confirm I had TM .

Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?

Just TM , it took me about two days to know what it was . At first they were thinking I had meningitis until test came back negative

What have been your biggest difficulties?

Bladder disfunction, I’m able to go on my own but it’s not the same . (Not going into detail)

How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?

Not at all , everyone has been really supportive

What things have you stopped doing?

I stopped going out more

What do you think about the future?

I think I’ll get better W/ my bladder problems in the future ....at least that’s what I’m hoping !

So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?

2016 , when I had my son ❤️

What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?

Go out more , enjoy life more ...you never know what can happen the next day .

If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?

My life is good , I’m very lucky to be this fortunate and not be paralyzed.

Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?

Stay active , dont over do it though ! Respect how tired you are and just rest when you need to . TM can be very exhausting.. and have hope that whatever your situation is THINGS WILL GET BETTER ❤️
