TM in the neck

I had some type of episode in 2003, which the Neurologist couldn’t find a diagnosis. He noticed a few symptoms, but didn’t know why I was having them. He knew I had Post Polio and then he diagnosed me also with Fibromyalgia. I also have Migraines. In 2005 I started having numbness beginning in my thumb and then it spread to my other fingers. I repeated to tell my doctors about it but no one seemed interested in finding out why. Finally I started going to a different Neurologist. I asked her about it. She ordered an MRI of my head and neck. The radiologist discovered the Transverse Myelitis in my neck. She told me if the doctors had discovered it sooner, it might have been reversed. So now I can’t feel with my right hand at all. I’ve since been trying to utilize my left hand for most things. It’s very difficult for me because I must be careful not to burn myself when cooking. Last week I cut my finger badly and needed stitches, because of my hand. It may seem small to only have my hand affected, but I feel it is getting worse. I do have quite a few other health issues going on, so sometimes things get a bit blurred as to what the source of my pain is actually coming from, but the numbness in my hand is major. I also drop things a lot, and that also poses a big problem for me. I often feel sad that my doctors previously had taken to note of my condition back when this all started. Maybe that mysterious episode I had was a virus that eventually caused the TM. We will never know…….
