My NMO TM came on in a day (hours). I was paralysed from the waist down. I was in hospital at colchester but they did not know what I had, so I was transferred to addendrooks. I was diagnosed with NMO TM within 2 days. I was given steroids iv. Then plasma exchange. Physiotherapy got my walking again in about 2 months . I had balance problems and didn't walk well. But after a year I was back at work and 95% back to normal. i was taking prednisone, anitriptyline.  Addendrooks gave me mycrophenalte to stop relapse.

But in March 2015 I relapsed, this happened suddenly over night. Back to addendrooks. This time I was paralysed from the waist down and both arms to hands. Given steroids iv and plasma exchange again. This time physiotherapy got my hands moving and walking ,just and then released to go home in a wheelchair and crutches.

I now can walk but not far and use walking sticks. My senses are altered and I cannot feel hot/cold and have trouble picking things up with either hands. Now on pregabalin anitriptyline and have 6 monthly rituximab infusion at addenbrookes.  I cannot work , I have a blue badge, get PIP and ESA.
