We had just moved from Oregon when I was 7. I was taking some swim classes here in Oklahoma and came down with Mono. I woke up one morning to go to swim class and couldn't walk. My mom took me straight to my pediatrician and he was thinking it was Guillian Barré. He sent me straight to Children's Hospital. I was in the hospital for three days. They ran a ton of test like an Electromyogram, spinal tap, ridiculous amount of blood drawn and then on the second day of being in the hospital they knew what I had. Luckily for me the Transverse Myelitis stopped before too much damage was done. I was able to leave the hospital the following day. I had a little sensitivity in my Achilles Tendon, but have been fully recovered since leaving the hospital. I have been able to enjoy playing basketball from 4th to 12th grade, I now love backpacking, hiking, campin, and, scuba diving. I am married and have a sweet baby boy that just turned a year old!
