I was diagnosed with TN at the age of 26 in December 2007. I was in the mist of my teenage days partying & going outevery weekend. I 1st thought it was my molar & immediately opted to have it extracted. 5 days later I was still in excruciating pain. I saw a neurologist in April 2008 who suggested I see a neurosurgeon who will explain surgery options to me. Neurosurgeon suggested I have MVD and all the risks. I was put off with the 95% success rate. I refused it and started seeking assistance elsewhere ie accupunture, homeopathy, natural remdies and & even flying to samoa & fiji. Nothing worked so after 3 years I gave in to having MVD. Nov 2010, i had my Microvascular Decompression and was painfree for 23months before pain returned.
