A Ulcerative colitis story

Feb 19, 2016

Diagnosed in 2008 with Ulcerative Colitis when I was around 12 years old. Diagnosed a year later with Coeliac Disease when I had my second colonoscopy to see how things were going.

I was then taken for a Barium Meal x-ray (yuk!) And have also had a dexa bone scan.

I was placed straight on Steroids intravenously for three days and then sent home with Prednisolone tablets to get my disease under control. Went under temporary remission though it never felt so. Medication wise I've been on Asacol, Azathioprine, Steroids, Pentasa Suppositories, Predsol Enemas, Salofalk Enemas. Plus iron and calcium supplements.

My current medication concoction is Asacol, Azathioprine, Salofalk.
