2003...city park fireworks show....3 family members were affected.  I don't remember much for the time period because of the fever. I know i had a grandchild with me and they found me in bed...scary when i heard about that.  first doctor visit...a bust...second one i was finally tested....positive...then the arguing began.  Each time i picked up a cold or flu..the rash would come back. told the doc it was back....was told that can't happen.  went online and researched.  took a while but finally found all the info i could from cdc in new york and canada.  printed it out...next rash....demanded a test and showed her the research and tested positive.  they knew nothing.  the area had been warned about dead birds etc.  call the city and they will pick up the bird...etc. had them pick up two just in my yard that year. i know they just tossed them in a dumpster and never tested them.  complete lack of concern by all forms of gov. and medical profession. i know mine was never reported to any agency. downhill from there.  allergies and asthma...incidents so harsh that i have meds everywhere.  but the allergies have gotten to the point that the antibiotics make me sicker than the actual infections. cause bleeding etc.  always tired..cold or hot...lack of concentration...chemicals seem to be the worst.  and the doctors still look at you like you are nuts....have never found one who knows or has focused on wnv. the other family members weren't as ill but have different issues with high blood pressure etc. and they were young. i see many things i would like to research on the sites i go to, but now it takes me a week to wade through anything with big words...that is why i know that attitude is what keeps me going...and the memory that i used to be smarter.  the latest is problems with my glands. i will try to research it eventually...on a good day.
