Story about West Nile Virus .

West Nile 2017 Germantown TN

Jun 30, 2017

it was the last week of March when a rash popped up on my stomach. Took Benadryl thinking it was an allergic reaction. Next morning it spread all over, wrists to ankles with 2 spots on my eyelids. Quickly became fatigued with body and joint aches. Saw my Dr's nurse practitioner who immediately showed concern and tested for all bug/spider bites not convinced it was allergic reaction. The next day my whole body felt like a lead balloon, fuzzy head, eyes thick, ears ringing, joints were "hot" and I was exhausted. Test results WN positive. Began Minocyline (per research on WN) for 2 weeks. 3 months out and I am still in active phase. Still ache and fatigue quickly. But I never had the "flu like" fever and headaches most commonly associated with WN. I feel blessed and thankful for my mild case and quick acting nurse, yet have major anxiety that Things will take a turn for the worse.
